Singing is Eddie's passion. As many forms, functions, reasons, or rhymes, it's what drives him. He has sung in 2 rock bands previously: original band, Blatant Innuendo ('04-'06), and a 90s+ cover band, One Headlight ('10-'12). He sings regularly with the local choral ensemble, Samantics, and performs in musical theatre productions all around the area, including roles like Roger in RENT, Judas Iscariot in Jesus Christ, Superstar, and Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He also plays some instruments on an "as-needed" basis, but overall, the thrill of performing live music with others is the greatest feeling in the world for him. Favorite bands include Radiohead, Elbow, R.E.M., Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Alanis Morissette, Incubus, and Pink Floyd.
Christina started her singing training when her father sadly announced that her family could no longer stand her off-key shower concerts. Taking voice lessons, she turned into a hardcore choir and theater kid. Her specialty is finding harmonies in songs and enhancing the lead singer. Currently, she does backup vocals for Invincible (Pat Benatar tribute band), Stand Band (tribute to Stevie Nicks), and Big River (Johnny Cash tribute), as well as Learn to Fly.
Sean started the music journey in the late 70s with violin in the grammar school orchestra, and quickly switched to guitar, mainly due to the influence of his guitarist brother-in-law 10 years his senior. Sean was heavily influenced by the improvisational rock and blues guitarists of the classic rock era into the 80s, such as Clapton, Hendrix, Page, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He also has great love for the pop and new wave of the 80s with a bit of crazier fusion instrumentalists sprinkled in. Sean has been playing around Sacramento for 30 years in original bands, including a 6-year solo stint in 2 different galleries for the 2nd Saturday Art Walk. Also, working as a producer for local blues artist, Bobby Rodriguez.
Dan is a multi-instrumentalist playing keyboards, drums, guitar, and backup vocals. His bass playing extends into the genres of rock, funk, country, and latin beats. Dan joined an Oregon-based cover band, The Critix, straight out of high school. After moving to California, he joined Suspicion, an original band. They toured Canada and were offered a non-lucrative record deal, which they turned down. One of Suspicion’s original songs, Walk and Talk, was used in the movie Cap’s Crossing. It made it to the top 3 of an indie rock radio station contest. Repeat Offender was the last band he played in before Learn to Fly. He draws inspiration from bassist Kelly LeMieux of Buckcherry, a close personal friend and high school classmate.
From the moment Chris Hills hit a snare drum in elementary school, his influences and tastes have been as varied as his moods. In high school he joined the concert band, and started a heavy metal band. While in college at UC Santa Cruz he played in jazz and funk bands at local parties and venues. After college, he took an involuntary break from the drums while living in residences that didn't appreciate high-decibel neighborly noises. Once his drums had a place to call their own, he joined Big River (a Johnny Cash tribute band), the Sacramento Concert Band, and Wolf Gang (a band of teachers and students that play rallies and events at the middle school where he teaches). Currently he is the drummer for Bobby Zoppi and the /Corduroys (former MCA recording artist as "Zoppi"), 7 Summers (a Morgan Wallen tribute band), and for Learn to Fly.
